Welcome to the Charlcombe Inn

Set on the outskirts of Bath, The Charlcombe Inn is a welcoming country free house with easy road access, ample parking, and a beautiful garden overlooking Bath Racecourse.

Featuring 14 stylish en-suite guest rooms, including 10 Premium Rooms and 4 larger Deluxe Rooms with racecourse views, together with a superb food offering and carefully selected drinks menu, The Charlcombe Inn provides the perfect setting for business stays, countryside escapes, and visits to Bath.

We offer an interesting selection of pub classics and an exciting range of specials with all food cooked fresh using locally sourced ingredients. Real ales are always on tap along with an interesting wine list, a selection of premium spirits and great range of alcohol-free drinks.

As we have bedrooms we are open for breakfast and remain open all day.

Open daily, we also serve coffee and cake in the morning and afternoon. This is a popular spot for walkers and naturally, well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Great place, friendly staff

We stayed here for two nights. We arrived on Father's Day. The pub was busy but they staff were very quick at booking us in. We also were able to book a table for dinner that day. We stayed in one of the rooms in the courtyard. Very nice clean room. Sunday roast was great. Plenty of food. Breakfast in the mornings was great to. No waiting around. We were asked about our plans for the day and was advised to walk to the park and ride along the road to go into bath. Perfect idea. It's just a 10 minute walk along the road. Bus every 15 minutes and last one back is at 11.30 so no need to rush about. Staff were always happy to help. We asked about having a few earl grey tea bags for our room. They were happy to do this. Great place and very friendly staff. Would definably go back . Thank you for a great stay.

Beautiful, quaint lodge close to Bath with parking and excellent breakfast.

This property exceeded all my expectations. It was absolutely beautiful, immaculately clean, beds comfy and perfectly located right outside Bath. It was so very quaint and simply felt ‘special’ especially after spending the day in Bath. It had private parking (with no charge). The staff was super friendly breakfast the next morning was exceptional. It was reasonably priced also. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Gorgeous stay here as a little work trip to bath!

Just out of the town with some stunning views!

The room was clean and tidy with great care to detail and little amenities in the room too which was nice! Would highly recommend to anyone stopping by as it’s quaint. The breakfast selection included too was phenomenal and the service was quick in the restaurant too with juices and hot drinks available! The eggs + avocado were amazing and the salmon and scrambled eggs were great too! Would highly recommend even to stop off for breakfast

Really good, will be back

Lovely location, friendly, helpful staff. Room was small but very clean and had everything needed. Very comfortable bed. Bonus was plug sockets near mirrors (hotel chains take note!)

Great Accommodation and easy access to Bath.

This is a lovely comfortable place to stay. It is only 4 miles from Bath and there is a super park and ride station less than 300 yards away from the hotel / bar. The staff were lovely especially Oliver the Manager. The food was good and breakfast provided a great range of options. I had a standard room which was very comfortable and well equipped and the bathroom was lovely and clean. If you are going to Bath and you are looking for easy access to Bath, reasonable priced , great accommodation, with good lovely staff . Then this is the place to stay

Perfect place to stay near Bath

What an absolute gem of a pub. From the moment you step through the door you are greeted with a warm friendly smile. The staff were so attentive, this is our first time in the uk from Australia and we couldn’t be happier, we stayed 3 nights in the lovely accommodation. The food was exceptional and we could tell real care goes into every dish. What really sets this pub aside, apart from the the staff is the beautiful location metres from the race track. Thanks so much for making our first trip to the UK so welcoming. So if you looking for a great place to stay look no further it truly is a little fabulous.

Would highly recommend and will be going again.

Went to the Charlcombe Inn last Sunday to celebrate my birthday with friends and family, there were 10 of us. Our table was booked for 4.15 and the service was very quick getting us drinks and then our orders. We all had different things and they all came together and hot.

The food was really delicious. Would highly recommend and will be going again.

Late Christmas lunch for over 70's Fitness group at the Chalcombe Inn

We had our annual Christmas dinner at this large inn. There were about 16 of us, all pensioners, all reasonably fit! Our meal was booked for 3 o'clock and we arrived at 2:30 to have drinks before our meal. Our table was very well laid out Christmas style. Our drinks were delivered promptly and accurately. Our starters were excellent. We all loved our main courses and our sweets and the food was high-quality. Nothing was too much trouble for the serving staff who were very polite and helpful. A thoroughly enjoyable experience for people who appreciate good food and great service. Well done the Chalcombe Inn. We shall return!

Very pleasantly surprised

Went for a family dog walk and stopped off here for lunch beforehand. To be honest we didn’t have very high expectations as the menu looked a bit plain - however I’m glad to say we were very pleasantly surprised! All of the food was excellent - the soup was delicious, the burgers were succulent and tasty, the chips were perfectly cooked. The pale ale was also fantastic. The macaroni cheese side dish was massive and very tasty. Every single one of our group of 6 was very happy with our food and we left full and very satisfied!
